Magic Dirt Willunga comes from Smidge’s estate vineyard, where deep red clay loam, quartz and ironstone give the wine breadth, line and quiet power.
The 2016 vintage is deeply flavoured and composed, moving broadly across the palate with ripe tannin, dark fruit and a savoury edge that gives the wine shape and length.
This is a flagship Shiraz with generosity, but also with structure. It fills the mouth without feeling heavy, and opens beautifully with time in the glass.

Why we like it
This is a wine of shape and authority. It has warmth and presence, but it still feels composed and finely built.
Drink it with
Charcoal-grilled meats, slow-cooked lamb, braised dishes, aged cheeses, or a long table that calls for a serious McLaren Vale red.
